I once ran into William Shatner on the street in midtown Manhattan, he was looking in the window of one of those touristy electronic stores- (this was pre-Priceline comeback) I said, “William Shatner!” and put out my hand for a handshake. He hardly looked away from his window shopping and waved me off in a jewish “feh” gesture…perfect Shatner moment!

Perhaps it sounds ridiculous, but the best thing that young filmmakers should do is to get hold of a camera and some film and make a movie of any kind at all.
